As more people relocate to or visit Florida, the demand for qualified road safety professionals grows. The booming population calls for additional transportation expansion and safe roadways. Rapid population growth and expansion requires skilled professionals, so now is the time to empower students with road safety career opportunity options.
Transportation industry officials responded in 1999 by creating Construction Career Days. The nationwide educational outreach program is designed to cultivate interest in high school students for the wide variety of skilled construction careers.
At the 2019 construction Career Days the Dori Saves Lives Foundation reached thousands of teen students and presented them with transportation engineer career opportunities, and enlisted the aid of hundreds of teen social warriors to help spread the word about the dangers of distracted driving.
